THE CURRENT BETWEEN US By Kindle Alexander

I know I have told you this before, but I will say it again, I am a huge fan of Kindle Alexander. And her latest book The Current Between us is just another reason why. Kindle can spin a tale so real I feel like I truly know the characters, I become part of their world through the pages of her book.

Trent Cooper is a truly good man, he is raising his late sister’s kids as his own while running his own company. I believe I have a bit of a crush on him. I love a man who puts his family first, and Trent does just that. The children are another reason I love this book. They were funny and sweet, making me laugh out loud more than once. Gage Synclair is a sophisticated, worldly, tough photojournalist. At first you think that may be all he is, until he meets Trent. Not only do we as readers learn more about him, but Gage himself realizes that there is so much more to life and living than he thought before.

This isn’t  just a love story, it is also laced with mystery and intrigue giving you a story twist you don’t see coming, which is something I love in any story.

Here is a blurb from the book:

Gage Synclair, international, hard-hitting investigative photojournalist, is preparing for the final special report of his career. A story of deception and murder six long years in the making. And after spending ten years in some of the worst parts of the world, he’s ready to settle life down and open an art gallery in his hometown of Chicago. The only thing getting in his way, he needs to find a competent electrician to finish the job before his grand opening.

Trent Cooper, electrical contractor, is surprised by the last minute request for a fast-paced electrical remodel, wanting nothing more than to get his foot in the door with Layne Construction. Being gay in the construction industry isn’t easy, nor is being father to his two young adopted children. Trent keeps his life in separate zones to avoid a short circuit. But when the gallery owner propositions him on the first day, Trent can’t help but think his worlds are a little too close for comfort.
