COLLATERAL DAMAGE BY JT CHEYANNE

Fleeing the questions and horrific memories in Miami-Dade, Trevor Garrett accepts a deputy position in the small town of Rolling Fork, Mississippi. Plagued by anxiety attacks and an abhorrence to being touched, Trevor rebuffs his best friend’s attempts to set him up. He has no desire for any type of relationship; until the local golden boy strolls into his line of sight at the neighborhood dive…

Logan Andrews just wants to take care of his mama. After years of serving his country in the Army Special Forces, Logan resigns when he learns his mother is suffering from advanced stages of Alzheimer’s disease. A night out with old friends turns heated when the newest deputy in town catches his attention…

When a sexually deviant killer sets his sights on the gay men in the area, Trevor is assigned the case. In a wicked twist, all evidence points to Logan. Can Trevor’s past be repeating itself? In a race against a killer, Trevor struggles to overcome his own insecurities and clear the man whose touch sets him on fire. Will he succeed or will their budding relationship become Collateral Damage?

Ok I know it has been awhile since I have posted a review, just to remind you this MAY contain SPOILERS; you have been warned.

Where to begin? Ok, at the beginning…..I have been a fan of JT’s writing since her RP days. The only thing I can say is she keeps on improving.

Collateral Damage has a good balance of romance, suspense and danger. There are times where some books it’s all about the sex. Don’t get me wrong a steamy sex scene is great; it’s just not the only important part. JT Cheyanne knows how to balance the story and keep the reader intrigued.

From the beginning I was hooked not only on the attraction between Trevor and Logan, but the sinister happenings in this small town.

I have to say my favorite part of the book was the relationship between Logan and his mother. I know to first read the synopsis you wouldn’t think that was the main focus, and for some it might not be. For me it showed me what kind of man Logan was. You can tell a lot about someone by how they treat their family. There is a scene with them, I won’t spoil it here, but it moved me to tears.

I would highly recommend the book, I can’t say it enough. JT Cheyanne is a brilliant writer. I look forward to what she has planned for us next…..I am hoping the next installment of the Crimson series with her equally talented wife, VL Moon…..*hint hint* NO pressure LOL

Review and Giveaway for Broken Oaths by JT Cheyanne and VL Moon

Let me start by saying how very proud I am of these two amazing ladies. With every new book their talent is shown to the world and we get a glimpse into the wonderful worlds that live inside them. Thank you JT and VL for once again letting us tag along for the ride.

Betrayed by his peers and slandered as a traitor, Commander Thierry Donovan has nothing left. Locked away and targeted by the very men responsible for his incarceration, Thierry defies the odds and fights for the fundamental right to survive the hell-hole of his imprisonment. With no one to trust, Thierry finds solace in the last place he imagines...

The church is Ryan Flynn's sanctuary. He craves the solitude and peace he finds in the hallowed halls. His oath to serve God is a calling Ryan has hidden behind all of his adult life; until his past catches up with him in the form of his foster brother, Special Agent Orrin Hunt...

Submerging himself within a world of danger, violence and corruption is the only way Orrin can cope with life. Rejected and tormented by the bitter remorse of unrequited love, Orrin is oblivious to the beauty of what life can offer him. If he'd only open his eyes, and maybe his heart....

Jaydan Callahan's life is a wreck. Gangs, drugs and violence are a part of his normal day to day routine. For one so young, he's seen it, been there, done it and gotten more than enough tee shirts as proof. Capable of smelling a cop from a mile away, it comes as no surprise to Jay when the guy he has the hots for is actually working undercover to bring down the town's notoriously dangerous king pin.

Four men, four lives, each one of them stained by lies, corruption and doubt. Can love show them the path to redemption, or will broken oaths, fear and grief make the crosses they bear too heavy a mantle to carry.

Love is Love

“All of the government resources and the only transport you could find was a damned cargo container?” A.J. glared at Orrin who sat braced in a corner. He returned the glare with his own sour look. It wasn't like he wanted to ride fifteen miles from Mainside to Waterside in a metal box. Even in November, sweat coated his skin given the number of armed male bodies crammed inside.

“Didn't you learn anything from your history lessons, sailor. We aren't storming Normandy again, we're using stealth,” Orrin gritted out. Normandy Road stretched from the actual naval base located in and around Colt's Neck, New Jersey, or Mainside to the locals, to the pier, or Waterside, where all of the warships were armed and prepared for deployment. Controlled strictly by the Navy, no one without authorization was allowed on the highway or railway to the docks. The pier maxed at six battleships at one time. The U.S.S. Birmingham weighed anchor on one pad. Only one other ship occupied a slip and they were headed to it under the guise of incoming cargo. A long line of similar carriers stretched out behind them lending credence to their “delivery.”

“You think Ducaine doesn't have eyes and ears on this lonely stretch of road?” The question emerged sharper than he intended. The half smile on A.J.'s face actually broadened.

“Ignore him.” Wedged in the space diagonally across from Orrin, Thierry shifted and tried to find a more comfortable spot. Not likely to happen in the sardine can holding them. “A.J. gets his kicks being a smartass. The more you squirm, the harder he'll poke.” The Commander's voice was flat, a perfect match to his jade colored eyes. The man had been extremely subdued since leaving Ryan at the safe house. Orrin understood all too well. For years, Ryan had him tied up in the same knots.

“Just yanking ya chain there, Super Special Agent in Charge,” A.J. said, throwing a wink in Thierry's direction. He didn't earn even a lip curl. “Pretty smart thinking going in as cargo. Not many sailors get to tell their grandkids they played sardine to save their country.” That comment earned him a few snickers from the men around them. Orrin tuned out the one liners and jokes that followed.

His thoughts turned to Jay. Leaving him had been one of the hardest things he'd ever done. Pain, raw and fresh lurked in those beautiful green eyes. The kid hadn't been given a chance to grieve for his mother. Thrust into a fight that wasn't his, he'd lost the most important person in his life. Orrin's chest squeezed tight with guilt.

He should have done more to protect Jay and the others, should have cut the ties when he had the intel he needed on Marrenzo. Yet, he hadn't because of Jay. Funny, they said hindsight was twenty/twenty. His was crystal clear. He'd fallen for Jay gradually. Hiding behind his feelings for Ryan, he hadn't allowed himself to acknowledge the reason he couldn't leave Jay.

Now remember there may be SPOILERS AHEAD….you have been warned!! And you know how I feel about giving too much away, so other than the synopsis and excerpt I will not be repeating every detail of the book.

This book is not just a romance, don’t get me wrong there is plenty of it, BUT it also has intrigue, action and suspense. Just when you think you know what is going on….wrong. This story keeps you on your toes from beginning to the end.

I know there may be those who are leery about the fact that one of the main characters, Ryan, is a priest. My thought on it is this; Ryan wouldn’t be the first, nor the last, person with a strong faith that who wanted to dedicate themselves to their church/faith. Some may have thought that meant having to be becoming a priest, minister, or nun etc. then to later realize for one reason or another that may not have been their path in life. These people are after all only human, and make human choices and mistakes. Not to get in a theological debate on this subject, but this decision is between them and their god. Now within the confines of this story, Ryan is a grown man, and fell in love with another grown man, both consenting adults. So for me this was not a problem. To watch Ryan agonize over his feelings was heartbreaking for me. He loved Thierry but he also loved his church and faith.  His inner struggle was a huge part of the story for me. One that in the end, after all the heartbreak was worth all the tears I shed for him and Thierry.

Jayden and Orrin were great, even if Orrin was so stubborn I wanted to shake him a time or two LOL. I loved Jayden for the fact he was a smartass and didn’t take shit from anyone. He may have been young, but was wise beyond his years.

I loved this book; it gives you everything you need for a great story. Including the “want” for the next great book by its authors.

Secret by Kindle Alexander

Good morning my dears, today we Bitches are excited to be part of the blog tour for Kindle Alexander's latest stand alone book, Secret. Remember my review is MY opinion, and as always the may be spoilers Sweeties so be ware!! OH don't forget to enter the contests....yes there are 2. The first is the is the normal giveaway, the second is a scavenger hunt- find the bonus 5 scenes giveaway!!

Tristan Wilder, self-made millionaire and devastatingly handsome CEO of Wilder-Nation is on the verge of a very lucrative buyout. With tough negotiations ahead, he's armed with his acquisition pitch, ready to launch the deal of a lifetime. There’s just one glitch. The last thing he expects is to fall for the hot business owner he's trying to sway.

Dylan Reeves, computer science engineer and founder of the very successful social media site, Secret, is faced with a life-altering decision. A devoted family man with three kids and a wife, Dylan has been living a secret for years. Fiercely loyal to his convictions, his boundaries blur after meeting the striking owner of the corporation interested in acquiring his company. For the first time in his life, reckless desire consumes him when the gorgeous computer mogul makes an offer he can't refuse.

I feel my review; my take on this story is very unique. See from the very beginning I saw Dylan and Teri Reeves as Keagan Kruze and his wife of the heart Teri (DeGeorge Kruze) aka me. So instantly I became very protective of Dylan and his family. To learn how he had hidden from himself and from his wife was heartbreaking. By the time he admitted to himself and Teri, they had three children so they decided they would stay together until they were grown. During this time, they were still best friends, still a loving family. It was Dylan who pushed Teri to find love with someone; it was he would helped her when she did. All the while denying himself the same happiness.  There were moments while reading I would long to hug Dylan, no matter how much his family loved him he was still lonely.

When the time came for Dylan to try and sell his social media company, Secret, he meets the handsome charming Tristan Wilder, the CEO of Wilder-Nation. The company interested in Secret; only that is not the only thing Tristan is interested in. Let me be upfront here and yes I have told Kindle about this back during the BETA read, I have a hard time with Tristan. Again this goes back to me being protective of Dylan, being the “momma bear” and not wanting to see him or the family hurt. I thought Tristan was pushy, not matter how often Dylan told him he was not ready to come out, how he wanted to continue to wait till his children were all out of the house Tristan said he understood but then would seem to do what he wanted anyway. Now don’t be mad at me this is MY opinion, and the more I read I did open up to him a bit. I began to understand Dylan did need a push, one not from his family but from the life he wanted to lead. As much as he loved his children and his wife/best friend Dylan did need more, he needed a true love in his life.  I loved this book, I did learn to put the daggers away and let Tristan into my heart, *just know I am watching you mister LOL…..yes I know he is fictional, but that doesn’t stop me from loving Keagan either. *   I truly recommend this book whole heartily, it is another wonderful story by Kindle Alexander. I can't wait to see what she had in store for us next.

Best Selling Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica in both the male/male and male/female genres. It's always a surprise to see what's coming next!

I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it's true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women's hair!

Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life - I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations - regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal... I don't want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I'm going to tell you about Kindle.

I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I'll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died - weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn't have to be alone.

That time in my life was terrible. It's everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.

Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness - it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.

Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn't a time she wasn't there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It's its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn't be here today without her.

SUIT YOURSELF BY SUSAN MAC NICOL

Good day my dears, today I have the pleasure of sharing my review for Susan Mac Nicol's book 3 of her Men of London series, Suit Yourself.

Scarred both physically and emotionally after a motorcycle accident, twenty-five year old ex fashion model and porn star Oliver Brown is about to be stripped bare by flamboyant twink Leslie Scott—and they’ll rebuild love from the bottom up.

BARING THE BEAST

Twenty-five year old Oliver Brown is addicted. Two years ago, he was at the height of his career as “Nicky Starr,” fashion model, porn actor, partier without peer. Then came the accident. Hiding his scars, both emotional and physical, he’s gone into hiding. But fine clothing is some solace. A new suit by Debussy? Better even than a ride on his motorcycle Hulk or all the things he used to give and take on camera.

Enter Leslie Scott, the flamboyant, dark-haired, heel-and-tiny-short-wearing twink sent to deliver Oliver’s newest fix. A firecracker, Leslie is dapper, generous, in touch with his feminine side but all man, and as gorgeous as any garment ever made. He makes Oliver dream of ending his reclusion, of recapturing a future forever denied him. But for that to happen, Leslie would have to strip him to the bone. Only then will they rebuild life from the bottom up.

You know how this works; there WILL be spoilers ahead, so you have been warned!! And I am not just repeating the synopsis; these are my feelings on the story and the characters. That being said, here we go.

I am starting off saying, I completely love Leslie Scott. He is kind, loving and CHEECKY! I mean come on he is absolutely adorable. Yes, he babbles and tends to run on and end up getting himself into trouble. But hell how hasn’t done that; Leslie just may do it more than others.

Oliver Brown, former porn star/model had been through so much pain that my heart broke for him. Where Leslie is light and bubbly Oliver is the opposite, dark and brooding. His self imposed isolation doesn’t keep him from his love of a fine suit; which in the end becomes a true gift when Leslie comes to his door. Leslie’s energy is infectious and wins Oliver over to start living again.

Without giving too much away, someone from Oliver’s past shows his ugly head causing problems. But in the end tragedy helps Oliver realize that he needs Leslie in his life. I love these two men together; they complement each other so well.

This is yet another winner for Susan Mac Nicol. I highly recommend this book, this series to everyone. Susan truly has a gift and she keeps us, her readers, waiting on the edge of our seats for the next book. So hint hint wink wink Susan!! LOL

Susan Mac Nicol is a self confessed bookaholic, an avid watcher of videos of sexy pole dancing men, self confessed geek and nerd and in love with her Smartphone. This little treasure is called 'the boyfriend' by her long suffering husband, who says if it vibrated, there'd be no need for him. Susan hasn't had the heart to tell him there's an app for that...

She is never happier than when sitting in the confines of her living room/study/on a cold station platform scribbling down words and making two men fall in love. She is a romantic at heart and believes that everything happens (for the most part) for a reason. She likes to think of herself as a 'half full' kinda gal, although sometimes that philosophy is sorely tested.

Lover of walks in the forest, theatre productions, dabbling her toes in the cold North Sea and the vibrant city of London where you can experience all four seasons in a day , she is a hater of pantomime (so please don't tar and feather her), duplicitous people, bigotry and self righteous idiots.

In an ideal world, Susan Mac Nicol would be Queen of England and banish all the bad people to the Never Never Lands of Wherever -Who Cares. As that's never going to happen, she contents herself with writing her HEA stories and pretending, that just for a little while, good things happen to good people.

Ansleigh's Grotto by JT Cheyanne

Dylan Matthews lives in a world of fantasy. As a video game designer, there are no limits on how far or wide his imagination could stretch. He loves his work and excels at bringing the visions in his head to a game console. The luck of his Irish heritage seems to touch him when his prototype Zombie ApoXalypse is bought days after he inherits a mansion in the heart of the Appalachian mountains. Life is indeed magical.

Ansleigh has waited centuries for one man, only to find him and then lose him due to his own inability to trust in their burgeoning love. The magick of Mother Earth flows within him and through him allowing him to nourish the Grotto where he makes his home. Yet, he yearns for the male that nurtures his soul. When the whims of Fate bring his Cosantoir back into his life, does he have the courage to accept his heritage?

As the fantasies in his head become reality and the monsters of nightmares crawl through the forest, can Dylan forgive broken promises to protect the Croi? There is no pause button when the Fae and human worlds collide. Will Dylan have what it takes to master the maze and win Ansleigh's freedom?

Let me start out by saying, I have been a fan of JT Cheyanne’s writing for a long time. I started reading her and her wife’s working by in their role play days. And I have been hooked ever since.  JT has a gift of creating a world that is both fantasy and very believable.

As the book begins we meet Dylan Matthews at his grandfather’s will reading, he and his family are stunned to find out he has inherited his grandfather’s home and property.  Dylan is confused since he and his grandfather hadn’t spoken in years. The home and surrounding land is called The Grotto, Dylan used to visit there when he was a small boy. His inheritance comes with the stipulation that he live there for one year.

We also meet in the Grotto Ansleigh of the Fae; he is the protector of the woods. He long with the sprites Shae and Grail, who I happen to love. I love their interaction with each other…..or should I say their bickering! And Shae is so feisty and boosy; she cracks me up.

I have said in other posts I don’t like to give every detail or basically rewrite every word from the synopsis ….because I really think you should read this for yourselves. So I will just share some of my favorite things about the book.

First I just want to point out I love Ansleigh over all, he is so well written and such a well rounded character.  I like the chemistry between him and Dylan, it wasn’t just about sex, even thought that was hot, it wasn’t the only thing the story was about.  I have to fall in love with a character in any story, and here I truly did love both men. When Dylan is unsure of what is happening I too felt lost, when Ansleigh was hurting my heart broke.

As I said before I love Shae, every time she pulled someone’s hair I cracked up. Here she was this tiny thing and showing she would show them who had strength and not to forget it LOL

I loved learning of the backstory of the Fae, I have a soft spot for them and was so excited to learn of their history in this story.

The Villian…..no I won’t say who…SPOILERS!! Just know this person scared the shit out of me.

So let me be blunt…..I loved this book. I read it in one sitting, not getting anything done that day LOL and I already told JT is was her fault too!! It was wonderful, and I truly recommend so please make sure if you haven’t read it yet do so. Also make sure to pick up any and all titles by JT Cheyanne.

FULL DISCLOSURE BY KINDLE ALEXANDER

Deputy United States Marshal Mitch Knox apprehends fugitives for a living. His calm, cool, collected attitude and devastatingly handsome good looks earn him a well-deserved bad boy reputation, both in the field and out. While away on an assignment, he blows off some steam at a notorious Dallas nightclub. Solving the case that has plagued him for months takes a sudden backseat to finding out all there is to know about the gorgeous, shy blond sitting alone at the bar.

Texas State Trooper Cody Turner is moving up the ranks, well on his way to his dream of being a Texas Ranger. While on a two-week mandatory vacation, he plans to relax and help out on his family’s farm. Mitch is the last distraction Cody needs, but the tatted up temptation that walks into the bar and steals his baseball cap is too hard to ignore.

As Mitch’s case gains nationwide attention, how will he convince the sexy state trooper that giving him a chance won’t jeopardize his life’s plan...especially when the evil he’s tracking brings the hate directly to his doorstep, threatening more than just their careers.

Trailer by the talented Becca Manuel of Bibliophile Productions

One of the first things I said to Kindle the moment I finished Double Full was, “Please tell me we get to know more about Mitch?” Thankfully she is a woman of her word and now I am lucky enough to have had Mitch in my hands…..get your minds out of the gutter I don’t mean like that….unfortunately. ANYWAY, one of the things that drew me to Mitch even back in Double Full, is that he is a badass, the man has brains and brawn as well as a wicked sense of humor. I mean not many people would wear those T-shirts and be able to pull them off. Right?

Full Disclosure picks up where Double Full left off, with Mitch and his new partner investigating another attack they believe is linked to the one that ended Colt’s Michael’s NFL career in Double Full.

Cody Turner is a Texas State Trooper, who is working toward being a Texas Ranger.  While on vacation he meets Mitch at a local bar, what seems at first just pure sexual attraction, both men come to realize it is much more than either of them expected.

As Mitch continues for follow leads in the investigation, we are taken along on a ride filled with intrigue, love, friendship, mystery, dread….and loss. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. And here is me sending out my hope for a follow up book…..that is comes soon, and will give us more of Kreed….*wink wink to Kindle*
